Guilin landscape, the generic term of Guilin tourism resources, is one of the top ten scenic spots in China. Typical karst topography makes up its distinctive landscape. Guilin landscape is famous for its green mountains, clear waters, unique caves and beautiful rocks. As a representative of Chinese landscape, it has been listed in the World Natural Heritage List. Wang Zhenggong, a poet in the Southern Song Dynasty, once wrote a poem “East or west, Guilin scenery is best”, which has spread through the ages and attracts people at home and abroad who have never been to Guilin. The best way to enjoy Guilin landscape is to take a bamboo raft to drift on the river and look up at the surrounding mountains. 冰糖葫芦（ice-sugar gourd）是一种传统小吃，起源于南宋，盛行于民国时期的京津地区。不同地区冰糖葫芦的大小和销售方式各不相同。传统的冰糖葫芦一般用山楂（hawthorn）串成，只有在冬天才能在市场上见到。山楂和外面的那层糖衣因低温而被冻硬，所以吃起来又酸又甜，十分坚硬，像是在吃冰一样，故得名“冰糖葫芦”。近年来，糖葫芦在夏天亦有售，除了传统的山楂冰糖葫芦外，根据制作原料的不同还有草莓、香蕉、桔子、核桃（walnut）等不同口味的冰糖葫芦。

Ice-sugar gourd, a traditional snack, originates in the Southern Song Dynasty and prevails in Beijing and Tianjin during the Republic of China. In different regions, it varies greatly in sizes and sales methods. Traditional ice-sugar gourd is usually made with hawthorns and only found in winter. The hawthorns and the layer of sugar outside are frozen hard because of low temperature, which makes the ice-sugar gourd taste sour and sweet, and hard as ice. That’s why it is called “ice-sugar gourd”. In recent years, the snack is also sold in summer. Based on different ingredients, there are various flavors of ice-sugar gourd such as strawberry, banana, orange, and walnut in addition to the traditional one.

Oil-paper umbrella is one of the traditional handicrafts of Han nationality. As the earliest umbrella appeared in the world, it has been used for more than 1,000 years. Oil-paper umbrellas, as the product of ancient Chinese wisdom, are handmade, whose raw materials all come from nature. In addition to sheltering from the sun or rain as a daily necessity, oil-paper umbrella is also an indispensable item at the wedding. In traditional Chinese weddings, when the bride gets out of the sedan chair, the matchmaker will cover the bride with a red oiled-paper umbrella to avoid evil spirits. As a paper-made umbrella originated from China, oil-paper umbrella has also spread among Asian countries such as North Korea, Thailand, Japan and so on, and has been developed into local characteristics in those places.

Sunflower gets its name for the reason that its flower often turns toward the sun. Later, sunflower seeds become increasingly popular as a kind of leisure snack due to their rich nutrition and delicious taste. Modern diving sport started in the 20th century, which was introduced into China together with other European and American sports. It is divided into springboard diving and platform diving. The countries in the leading position of diving across the world include China, Russia, the United States, Germany, Canada and so on. Diving requires athletes to be equipped with some essential qualities including coordination, flexibility, grace, balance and timing.
