Sam is a little fish. He lives in the sea. He is very lonely. He wants to have a friend. The friend looks like him. Sam sees an ink fish. The ink fish has eight legs. He doesn’t look like Sam. So Sam goes away. Sam meets a shark. He wants to say hello to the shark. The shark opens his big mouth. Sam runs away quickly. Sam is tired and hungry. He wants to have a rest. Then he sees a round fish. She says to him. “Hello! Would you like to be my friend?” Sam answers: “Of course! But you are sound. I am flat.” The round fish days: “But we are both fishes.”
Sam thinks and says, “You are right. Let’s be friends.” They become good friends.

　　One day, a king was travelling in his own land. He saw a farmer so absorbed in his work that he did not even notice a snake coiling round his leg.

　　一天，国王在他的国家巡游，看见一个农夫正专心地锄地，以至连一条蛇缠住他的腿都没有发觉。

　　The king shouted,“Dear man, there is a snake on your leg!”

　　国王大声惊叫起来：“汉子，你的腿被一条蛇缠住了呀!”

　　The farmer just shook the snake off and continued his work.

　　农夫抖了抖腿把蛇甩开，然后继续锄地。

　　The king was very curious and asked,“Dear man, don't you know that the snake can harm you? You ignored it and kept working. Is the work more important than your life?”

　　国王感到很奇怪，问：“汉子，你不知道那蛇会咬伤你吗?你却满不在乎地干活，难道干活比你的命还重要吗?”

　　The farmer said,“Your Majesty, the only thing that is threatening me is not the snake but the food. If I don't work hard, when the next spring comes, my family members will starve to death!”

　　农夫说：“陛下，真正威胁我生命的不是蛇，而是食物。如果我不拼命耕作，明年春天一到，我一家老小就全饿死了!”

　　The king sympathized with the farmer and he instructed his prime minister to give the farmer a big sum of money.

　　国王听了，很同情这个农夫的处境，他命令首相给了农夫一大笔救济金。

　　A year later, the king met the farmer again. He was well dressed and looked rather plump. He was not farming now but there was a bandage on his right arm.

　　一年后，国王又遇见了那个农夫。他衣着华丽，脑满肠肥，甚为富裕。他没有锄地，右臂缠着绷带。

　　The king asked him,“Dear man, what happened to your arm?”

　　国王上前问他：“汉子，你的胳膊怎么啦?”

　　“Your Majesty,”the farmer replied,“my finger was pricked by a thorn on the pumpkin. Now I need a rest to take care of my arm.”

　　“陛下!”农夫答道，“我的手指被南瓜刺扎了一下。现在我需要休息来养养胳膊。”

　　The king was astonished.“When you were such a poor man, you were not afraid of a snake bite. You only kept working hard. But now you need a rest after being pricked by a little thorn on the pumpkin!”

　　国王惊叹道：“啊!想当年你穷的时候，蛇都不怕，拼命地干活。现在让南瓜刺扎了一下就想歇息了!”

　　The farmer said,“Your Majesty, you have forgotten what people usually say: that was before, now it is different!”

　　A man was strolling along the beach when he suddenly noticed from afar what he thought were children dancing.

　　“What on earth are they doing dancing on the beach?”as he quickly paced towards them.

　　“他们为什么要在沙滩上跳舞呢?”他边想边快速地朝孩子们走去。

　　He was surprised that a boy and a girl were not dancing but picking up the starfishes which were washed ashore by the tide and throwing them back into the sea.

　　他惊奇地发现，那个男孩和那个女孩并不是在跳舞，而是在捡被潮水冲上岸来的海星，然后把它们扔回大海。

　　“Excuse me, why are you throwing the starfishes back into the sea?”he asked.

　　The children ignored the remark but they continued picking up the starfishes and kept throwing them back into the sea.

　　“Don't you think it is a waste of your time as there are hundreds of starfishes still lying around. Surely you can't keep this act all day long.”

　　At last the elder boy replied,“Sir, you see the sun would soon rise and the tide will ebb away.

　　Though my sister and I can't throw all the starfishes back into the sea, we are sure it matters to the ones we succeed in throwing.

A Monkey and a Tiger

An old tiger lives in the forest.He does not want to look for food .He often tells other animals to bring him something to eat.
One day He sees a monkey and says," I'm hungry,monkey.Go to the village and bring me a fat pig."
"Oh,Tiger," says the monkey."I can't do that now.There is another tiger over there.He also wants a fat pig.He will not let me get anything for you to eat.I am afraid of him."

"Come with me," says the monkey.
The monkey and the tiger get to a bridge over the river."Now look down at the water," says the monkey.

"Yes,I do," says the old tiger," I will eat him up!"
“Grr…!So you told Monkey not to bring me anything?!Grrr … I’ll kill you!”
With these words the tiger jumped into the river.He did not come out again.

Cinderella is a beautiful girl. She has two ugly stepsisters. They are not kind to Cinderella. Cinderella does all of the work. She must cook, clean and do everything.

灰姑娘是个美丽的女孩。她有两个继母生的丑姊姊。这两个姊姊对灰姑娘很不好。所有的事都得要灰姑娘做。她必须煮饭、洗衣，什么事她都要做。
One day, a letter comes to the house. It is a letter from the prince. He will have a big party. He would like the three girls to come. The prince wants to find a wife.
有一天，家里收到一封信。信是王子寄的。他要举行盛大的宴会。他希望三个女孩子能一起来。王子要挑选王妃
Cinderella can't go to the party because she doesn't have beautiful clothes. Her stepsisters have beautiful clothes. They look very happy. Cinderella is very sad.
灰姑娘不能参加宴会，因为她没有漂亮的衣服。她两个姊姊却有漂亮衣服。她们的表情好愉快。灰姑娘伤心透了。
Cinderella's stepsisters leave the house. They are going to the prince's party.
Cinderella cries. She also wants to go to the party. Suddenly, a woman shows up. She is a kind fairy.
灰姑娘的两个姊姊出门了。她们要参加王子的宴会。灰姑娘哭了。她也想去赴宴。突然间，有一位女士出现了。她是个好心的仙女。
"Don't worry," says the fairy. "You can go to the prince's party." "I can't go," cries Cinderella. "I don't have a nice dress."

"It will be all right," says the fairy. "Go get a pumpkin, six mice and a rat." Cinderella quickly finds them. "What will you do?" Cinderella asks. The fairy waves her wand over the pumpkin.

The pumpkin is now a beautiful silver coach. The fairy waves her wand over the six mice. She changes them into six strong men. The six men will walk with the coach. Then the fairy changes the rat into a man. He is the driver of the coach.

The coach is beautiful, but Cinderella still looks sad. "I still can't go to the party. My dress is too ugly," she says. "Don't worry," says the fairy. She waves her wand and makes Cinderella's dress beautiful.
马车很华丽，可是灰姑娘仍然一副悲伤的模样。”我还是去不了宴会。我的衣服很丑，”她说。”别担心，”仙女说道。她挥了挥魔棒，便把灰姑娘的衣服变得很漂亮了。
Now Cinderella has a nice dress. It is gold and very pretty. Her shoes are made of glass. Cinderella is so beautiful. She can go to the party.
现在灰姑娘有了象样的衣服，是黄金做的，很漂亮。她的鞋是玻璃做的。灰姑娘模样真美，可以赴宴去了。
"You must leave the party before twelve o'clock," says the fairy. "At 12:00 the magic will end."
"I will be back before twelve o'clock," says Cinderella. She gets into the coach to go to the party.
“你必须在十二点以前离开宴会，”仙女说。”十二点时，法力就会消失。”
“我会在十二点以前赶回来，”灰姑娘说。她上了马车赴宴去了。
The prince's palace is full of people. They are all happy to be at the big party. All the girls want to marry the prince. Then Cinderella walks into the palace. "Who is she?" everyone asks. "She's so beautiful," they say.
王子的宫殿挤满了人。他们各个都很高兴参加这个盛大的宴会。所有的女孩子都想嫁给王子。这时灰姑娘走入皇宫。”她是谁呀？”每个人都问道。”她好美，”他们都说。
The prince sees Cinderella. He asks her to dance with him. All night long they dance and talk. The prince and Cinderella fall in love. At twelve o'clock, Cinderella runs out of the palace.
王子看到了灰姑娘。他邀请她与他共舞。他们整晚都在跳舞聊天。王子与灰姑娘坠入情网了。十二点时，灰姑娘跑出了宫殿。
Cinderella runs and loses one of her glass shoes. She must get home before twelve. She is late. She runs into the house. Now, she is wearing her old dress again.
灰姑娘跑呀跑的，掉了一只玻璃鞋。她必须在十二点前赶回家。她迟到了。她跑进家门。现在，她身上穿的又是原来的那一件旧衣服。

The prince finds Cinderella's shoe. "I know this shoe. It belongs to that beautiful girl. I'll find her," he says. The next morning, he goes from house to house to find her. He goes to Cinderella's house. The two ugly stepsisters try on the shoe, but their feet are too big.
王子发现了灰姑娘的那只鞋。”我记得这只鞋，它是那位漂亮姑娘的。我要找到她，”他说。第二天早上，他便挨家挨户去找她。他来到灰姑娘的家。两个丑姊姊试穿这只鞋，不过她们的脚太大了。
"Can I try it on?" asks Cinderella. "Yes," the prince says, so Cinderella tries the shoe on. It fits her foot. "I have found my princess," the prince says. Soon Cinderella and the prince get married. They live happily ever after.
“我可以试穿吗？”灰姑娘问道。”可以，”王子说，于是灰姑娘就试穿那只鞋。鞋很合脚。”我已经找到我的妃子了，”王子说。灰姑娘和王子很快结了婚。他们从此过着幸福的生活。

Having finished the homework,Li Ming wallked along in the street . Suddenly, he saw a little bird which was injured on both wings was being bited by a dog. He ran up to the dog,trying to
drive it away from the bird, but unfortunately he was bitten,too. Having been injured by the dog, he no longer dared to walk among dogs,afraid of being bitten once again.Considered as a coward, he was usually laughed at by his friends.However,he would try to rescue any animals from being harmed when he found them maltreated or injured.
In this story, we can see that Li Ming is a kind man of protecting the animals from being harmed.Although, he was afraid of being bitten once again,he also said that he would try his best to protect the animals. How a brave boy! I think the boy's behavir is worth to us to learn.
So,let us go together to protect the animals and also protect the enviorment which all the animals live in.

Good morning/ afternoon. I am honored to be here to share my ideas with all you. Today the title of my speech is Ways to finance one's graduate study.
In my opinion, there are three major ways to finance our study. First, according to Chinese traditional culture, the students that go to college mainly depend on their parents for tuition fees. Although some us are over 18 when in colleges, it is undoubted that we depend on our parents. But with the development of society and market economy, the situation begins to change. So the second way emerges. That is popular now in college campuses. You know that as a college student, we have much more spare time to manage. So some of us, especially in great need of money, take part-time jobs. We can earn some pocket money and gain some valuable experience. I think the way is good. Last but not the least, we, students, can finance our study by loaning money from our country. It is an acceptable way to finance our study. After graduation, we can return the money with interests. It is quite common in most colleges now.
Today I discuss three major ways to finance our study. Thank you for your attention.
